Day 2

Getting organized so that you can feed your family quick yet nutritious meals – that they will eat – is the first step in simplifying the daily struggles of what to fix, and figuring out what you have. How many times have you thought about what to fix for dinner, realized that you didn’t have everything you needed, even for something simple, and knew that in the time you took to go to the store, you will have used up whatever time you had to actually fix something good. Enter our friends at Papa Murphys. Does it count as home made if you bake it at home?

I’ve started a number of systems for planning meals, creating meal plans and grocery lists, and storing recipes. If you’re reading this, I’m guessing that you have, too.

My intention with this site is to share my insights into what works, what doesn’t, and a little bit of why, as well as some of my more successful ideas and meal plans.

A little over a year ago, I discovered that I am lactose intolerant. That was a saving revelation, but it was a condition that had only manifest itself over the previous year. My doctor put me on a pretty strict diet to help determine what the trouble was. That diet was basically paleo. Over the years I’ve really been drawn to Tosca Reno’s series of books on clean eating. I admit part of it may just be that the books are so pretty and clean looking that the eating philosophy must be good. My personal food philosophies have been developing and find much with these two theories that I agree with, and everyone in my family feels better when we follow them more closely.

Despite my efforts. Today, I had a Butterfinger candy bar.
