Homemade Teriyaki Sauce

Honestly, I have yet to buy a sauce I like straight out of the bottle, and Kikoman’s Teriyaki tastes the least like what I expect a teriyaki sauce to taste like. I’m posting this one here for now, because I’ve tried something similar that has worked really well for me, and the proportions look a little better. I’m trying to go gluten free however, so I’ll be messing around with this one to see how it can be improved.

1⁄4 teaspoon garlic powder
5 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 -2 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1⁄4 cup cold water

DIRECTIONS
Mix all but cornstarch and 1/4c water in a sauce pan and begin heating.
Mix cornstarch and cold water in a cup and dissolve. Add to sauce in pan.
Heat until sauce thickens to desired thickness.
Add water to thin if you over-thick it :).
